Pinecone Landing Retreat -

Imagine reclining in absolute peace and tranquility, surrounded by expansive views of mountains and the clear lake below. You'll watch as a golden eagle soars in the forever blue above you. That can happen at Pinecone Landing Retreat.
The award winning Pinecone Landing Retreat is an entirely private, 2-bedroom, 2-bath home that sleeps six comfortably. Tastefully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities. Everything has been thought of, even coffee and tea for your morning.
There's a gas BBQ on the large upper deck for those special outdoor dinners with family and friends. Below is a beautifully secluded, covered patio with a fire table and peaceful canyon views. The only sounds you hear are the wind and the river rushing, and occasionally, the call of a lone coyote.
We do offer robust Wi-Fi and a Smart TV with all the premium channels, but we hope you’ll be far too busy having fun and being away from it all.
There's also a washer & dryer with detergent just in case.

Sequoia National Forest's breathtaking beauty has made it a popular destination for filming many TV shows and movies, among them North by Northwest, The X-Files, Star Treck and Bonanza, among many other. Take a tour of the local movie museum and find out about the many movie stars that have visited us over the years!
The Lake
Lake Isabella is an undiscovered paradise. The lake is vast - more than 40 miles around - yet nobody seems to know about it. Even on "busy" holidays there are rarely more than five boats or jet skis at once.
Lake Isabella offers fishing, kayaking, pontoon boating, water and jet skiing.

Johnsondale Bridge Swimming Hole
Nothing cools on a scourging summer day in the high sierras like a swim into the Kern river.
Don’t miss out on the fun at the Johnsondale bridge swimming hole.
Jump off the rocks or swim against the current. There's even a little beach for lounging.
It’s about a thirty minute drive through breathtaking nature alongside the Kern River.

The Giant Sequoias
We are Sequoia National Forest,
not to be confused with Sequoia National Park which is three hours away.
But you'll only have to travel
forty-five minutes through
breathtaking nature along the Kern river
to get to the
famous 100 Giants,
a beautifully preserved grouping
of these beautiful,
two-thousand-year-old trees.
Many don't know that there are fewer and fewer of these treasures. Please make it a point to see them before they are all gone.
The Winter Ski Resort
Yes, we have a real-life ski resort that's offers great skiing and boarding, including some black runs and a half pipe.
Equipment rentals and lessons areavailable.
Turn left at the bottom of the hill, and then left on Evans. The resort is about nine miles up the road.

place to stay!
We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and puzzle books! The property was immaculate and very tastefully put together with lots of little touches that made us feel welcomed and cared for. The beds were very comfortable including the sofa bed and the bedding was great quality. There are plenty of outdoor seating options so you can get their own space if you’re in a group with great views of the lake.

What is the best time of year to visit Pinecone Landing?
Come anytime! We are a year-round playground from expert to family-friendly river rafting, kayaking, boating and fishing in the summer to skiing and boarding in the winter to year-round hiking.
What do we need to bring?
Just bring your clothes and anything you want to eat. You'll find a fully furnished home and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Condiments, oil& vinegar and most spices are present, as well as coffee, tea, cream and sugar for the morning. There is a large gas barbecue on the deck.
Can we bring our pets?
Four-leggeds are always welcome at Pinecone Landing. Just let us know who is coming so we can welcome them like family. There is a pet gate at the deck to make sure they're safe and don't wander off - we are in the wilderness, after all.
